If you’re reading this, I’m hoping you’re here to find out more about the original vision and purpose behind this podcast series.
It all started in 2019, in a pre-covid world, where I had this idea that we (me and all the then-teens-now-adults I went to high school with) were all once in the same place and that, since then, we have travelled 180 different paths.
How cool would it be, I thought, if we could somehow collate all 180 stories….how much experience, wisdom, insight there would be. And from a bunch with a pre-assessed ability to process and articulate! That’s why we were all standing together in the first place. I thought it could be so valuable, only all I could think of at the time, was a book…
So I get to say this next phrase for once: “luckily Covid happened!”
Over the past two years I have been finishing my own postgraduate studies and I just so happened to select a final elective that adjusted the way I see modern day information sharing. Through studying social media content generation, I reshaped this vision, as a podcast. Here was the first flyer with questions.

I abandoned the set questions pretty quickly though, as it took me out of the present moment. Being in the moment, focusing on the other person, listening to their story with 100% attention and asking authentic questions as they arise, is where its at for me. And it’s very challenging for me to do that!
We can all see each others lives and what they look like from the outside, to varying degrees, through social media. But wouldn’t it be incredible if we could talk about what our lives have been like from the inside.
I have many areas of conversation I’m all in to talk about, and many areas I know next to nothing about. I’m hoping to have warm, heartfelt conversations about what’s meaningful to the guest and although we’re all so different, if life has taught me anything over the past three decades, it’s that we’re all more alike than we realise. I’m looking foward to what I can learn from each of you and what we can share.
My vision is to create a short biographical blog piece on each interviewee and embed our podcast session into the blog. I’m hoping to create as many as want to participate. I want to document this time and make something of value.

In this early video, with the horrendous mess in the background, I tried to answer some of your initial questions. I made it on the fly and it was very unpolished.
You can support the making of this podcast by donating to the following GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/4bc3310d
Below is an early header I made. This project has developed and evolved throughout 2022 and I hope it continues to do so in 2023.

Edit on 8th April 2022
After recording a few episodes I have found the most comfortable way to do this, is just to organically unpack the past 27 years of the storyteller’s life. Through the conversation, the opportunities naturally present themselves for the host to ask about what the lesson was or how that event changed the storyteller.
I’m really hoping as many members as possible from the Class of 1995, SGHS, will support this project and book a date to record. I’m really looking forward to what we can make here.
